Korean War veteran with local survivors

ARLINGTON — Gilbert S. Mello of Arlington passed away Oct. 10, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Theresa (Rogers) and the loving father of Gary Mello and his wife Debbie of North Reading. Gilbert was the devoted grandfather of Kristina Chatzopoulos and her husband Kasey of Londonderry, N.H. He was the brother of Arthur Mello of Falmouth and the uncle of Donna and Anthony Corso of Burlington.
Gilbert was a Korean War Air Force veteran, a graduate of Tufts University and taught science in the town of Arlington School System for several years. His funeral was held from the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington on Monday, Oct. 17 followed by a funeral Mass in Saint Camillus Church. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
