LYNNFIELD — The girls’ indoor track team went .500 in a tri-meet against Essex Tech and Hamilton-Wenham Dec. 21.

The Pioneers (1-3) defeated Essex Tech 50-36.

Junior Lili Patterson finished first in the shot put (24’ 9”). Junior Abbie Dickey finished second in the shot put (24’6 1/2”). Freshman Lucy Madden finished second in the hurdles (9.7). Junior Natasha Desir was third in the hurdles (10.3). Freshman Sarah Crocket was second in the high jump (4’4”). Freshman Courtney Shinnick was third in the 50-meter dash (8.6) and was third in the high jump (4’4”).

Senior Meryl Braconnier broke the tape first in the mile (6:36). Freshman Cristina Kinslieh finished third in the mile (7:08). Junior Liz Reed set a personal best with her first place finish in the 300 meters (45.9). Senior Lexi Yannone finished first in the 600 meters (1:52). Lili DiPietro set a personal best with her second place finish in the 600 meters (2:01). Freshman Emma Rocco finished third in the 600 meters (2:09).

Sophomore Kate Mitchell finished first in the 1000 meters (3:20). Junior Rachel DiTullio finished second in the two-mile (17:40). The 4×400 meter relay team featuring Mitchell, Reed, Yannone and sophomore Grace Sperling finished first and improved their previous time by three seconds (4:31).

Conquered by Generals

The Pioneers narrowly fell 42-34 to Hamilton-Wenham.

Sperling finished third in the 50-meter dash (8.7). Sarah Bartolotta set a personal best with her second place finish in the 1000 meters (4:10). Sara Rocco was third in the 1000 meters (4:11).

Upcoming meets

The Pioneers faced Newburyport, Triton and Manchester-Essex on Monday, Dec. 28, taking place after deadline. Lynnfield hosts Amesbury and Ipswich on Jan. 6, beginning at 7 p.m. at Andover High School.
