SAUGUS – Mrs. Gloria F. “Glo” (Gioia) Merrithew, age 86, died on Monday, Nov. 14 at Saugus Center Health Care. She was the wife of the late Walter E. “Mert” Merrithew.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Sadie (Munro) Gioia. She worked as a real estate broker for Century 21 of the North Shore. Gloria was also a long time member of the East Saugus United Methodist Church. A devoted homemaker, she had resided in Saugus since the 1950s.
Mrs. Merrithew leaves one son, Brad W. Merrithew of Las Vegas, Nev.; two daughters, Gayle E. Merrithew of Wakefield and Joy Santoro and her husband Rich of North Reading. She is predeceased by her sister Jean “Honey” Craig.
