Gloria-Yanucci-obit-webROCHESTER, N.Y. — Gloria E. (Carbone) Yanucci, 88, of Melrose, died at the Strong Hospital in Rochester, New York.

Gloria was born and raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1945. She resided in Everett until 1954 and lived in Melrose for the past 65 years. Gloria worked as a medical secretary for the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 29 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Church of the Incarnation for many years and loved to entertain, cook, bake and spend her time with her family and grandchildren. Gloria enjoyed traveling with her late husband to Paris, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, The Bahamas, cruises and Jamaica. Gloria and her late husband had a storybook marriage and loved each other deeply and would spend their time together traveling throughout New England on long weekends to many Grand Hotels, Wentworth by the Sea and also to Martha’s Vineyard.

She was the beloved wife of the late Louis J. Yanucci for 50 years. She was the loving father of Louis J. Yanucci and his wife Robin of Winchester and Laura J. Burke and her husband Jeffrey of Pittsford, N.Y. She was the cherished grandmother of Stephen, Jennifer, Johnny and Grace. She was the caring sister of the late Margaret Carbone, Nicholas Carbone and Jeanette Tosi. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, April 10 from 2-5 p.m. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home will take place on Monday, April 11 at 8 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St., Melrose at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will take place in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gloria’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
