WAKEFIELD — Galvin Middle School Principal Mark Bedrosian is leaving at the end of the academic year and a search committee has apparently decided on three finalists to present to the community.

The finalists are Richele Shankland, assistant principal at Lynnfield Middle School; Adam Colantuoni, a one-time assistant principal at the Galvin who is now in Hanover and Dr. Richard Cowdell, the other finalist when Bedrosian was chosen to lead the Galvin in 2012 who until recently was the principal at Lynn’s Thurgood Marshall Middle School.

Elementary school parents received a letter recently signed by Assistant Supt. Dr. Kim Smith which invited them to meet the finalists tomorrow, Feb. 12, in the Galvin Learning Commons.

“The Galvin Middle School is in the exciting process of selecting a new principal in the coming weeks. This is an important decision for our elementary school families, too, as all of our children will enter the middle school in the near future,” writes Smith.

“Please join us to meet the finalists for the Galvin principal position this Thursday evening, Feb. 12 in the Galvin Middle School Learning Commons. Our candidates are scheduled as follows:

6:30 p.m.: Ms. Shankland

7:15 p.m.: Mr. Colantuoni

8:00 p.m.: Dr. Cowdell

“Parents will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about each candidate during these sessions. There will also be a feedback form available to share your thoughts with Superintendent Zrike following each session. Your input is valuable to us! Please pass the word to help generate a strong community turnout.

“I hope to see many of you there,” Smith concludes.
