ObitFarwell-webWESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Grace Farwell, warm, caring and genuine for 92 years, passed away on June 6, 2015.

Intelligent and supportive, with an inviting personality, she made everyone comfortable in her presence. Throughout her life she nurtured long, lasting friendships. In any situation her subtle elegance touched us all.

Devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and wife, Grace was comfortable playing bridge with the ladies, shopping for holiday gifts for the family or providing the support her husband needed for his demanding career.

During her life she traveled all over the world and was at ease in any setting.

And did she love her sports — the USC Trojans football team, the LA Lakers, and her Anaheim Angels. Who knew more about what was happening on a baseball diamond than Grace Farwell, down to every statistic?

And if anyone had a question about the Big Band Era or Frank Sinatra, Grace had the answer.

All enjoyed her great sense of humor and knew she certainly was never shy to say what was on her mind. Throughout her long, rich life she was beloved by all.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary in Westlake Village, Calif. on Saturday, June 20 at 4 p.m. with a reception following at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza.

Grace was born in Westfield, N.J. on March 31, 1923. She graduated from Westfield High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire where she was an active member of Chi Omega Sorority.

Grace was married to Lloyd Farwell on Oct. 15, 1948 and they were happily together for 66 years. Grace and Lloyd have two sons Wayne and Allan; a daughter-in-law, Pam; and three grandchildren Ashley, Jennifer and Jonathan. She so loved them all.
