WAKEFIELD — John G. Rogers, 78, of Wakefield died on Saturday, June 13, at the Life Care Center in Stoneham.

Born in England on Feb. 20, 1937, he was the son of the late George and Mildred (Hill) Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was raised and educated in England and had moved to the United States in 1972. He had been a Wakefield resident for the past 19 years.

Mr. Rogers was a retired manager of printing for Mass. Medical Society and Fidelity Investment. He had served in the British military.

Mr. Rogers was a proud and devoted platelet donor for the American Red Cross.

He is survived by his wife of Donna M. (Sgro) Rogers; his two daughters, Vicki Kelley of Everett and Melissa Paz of Revere; his six grandchildren: Nicholas and Christina Kelley, Hannah and Zachary Rogers and Tyler and Walter Paz and his dear friend Barry Robinson of England. Mr. Rogers is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
