SOUTH HAMILTON — North Reading’s Griffin Beal has finished a very successful year as the senior quarterback and defensive back for the Pingree School Highlanders.
The dual–threat quarterback guided the prolific Pingree offense and helped the Highlanders to finish 7–4 this season. Beal became the first player in Pingree football history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season, totaling 1,087 yards and 12 touchdowns this fall.
Beal completed 144 passes on 235 attempts for 2,348 yards and 33 touchdowns. He was named Evergreen League Player of the Year and team MVP, as well as All–New England first team.
Beal accounted for eight touchdowns in the team’s win over Holderness, rushing for 126 yards and three scores and throwing 315 yards and five TDs.
Griffin has been named to the Boston Herald All–Scholastic team and has been a Salem News All Star three years in a row.
