Wadlandobit-webWAKEFIELD — Helen E. Wilder-Wadland, 95, of Wakefield died Wednesday, January 18 in Wakefield.

She was born in Malden on September 16, 1921 and was the daughter of the late David and Isabelle (Irving) Flanagan. Helen was raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School and later from the Katherine Gibbs School of Boston.

She had been a longtime Wakefield resident and a summer resident of Bow Lake, NH.

She was retired from the former American Mutual Insurance Company of Wakefield and was a member of the “Tuesday Nighters.”

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Theodore R. Wilder and Philip L. Wadland. She was the loving mother of Richard C. Wilder, Paul B. Wilder and Cheryl Hynds of Wakefield, Kenny Wilder and wife Patti of NH and Diane R. Richardson and her husband Glen of Peabody. She was the grandmother of Alicia Parks and her husband Michael of Lynnfield, Paul Richardson and wife Andrea of VA and Darci Wilder. Great grandmother of Isabella Parks Colby Zigmund. She was also the sister of the late Irving and Bruce Flanagan and Ruth Cox.

Her funeral will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield Monday at 11.

Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
