Crush Rockport, 92-69

NORTH READING — Powered by double-doubles from senior captain Justin Dorosh, senior Adam Goldstein and junior captain Anthony Eldridge, the Hornets rolled to a 92–69 victory over the Rockport Vikings on Friday night. Dorosh recorded 22 points and 15 rebounds, Goldstein added 21 points and 15 boards and Eldridge finished with 16 points and 10 assists.

Coach Jpe Casey said, “It was a good road win for us. We scored a season high 92 points in the most hostile environment we’ve faced all year.”

North Reading’s offense exploded out of the gates opening up a quick 18–0 lead. Powered by four three pointers from Goldstein and one three by junior Matt McCarthy the Hornets raced out a 29–12 lead by the end of the first quarter.

The game got very physical and was played at a frenetic pace in the second quarter. Despite giving up 26 points to the Vikings, the Hornets maintained a double digit lead throughout the quarter. The lead at the half was 53-38.

Rockport wouldn’t go away at the start of the third quarter and chipped a 19 point lead down to 10. But Dorosh and Eldridge shredded the Vikings defense to close out the third helping North Reading maintain a 68–51 lead. The Hornets continued to score at will in the fourth and cruised to the 23 point victory.
