Horrigan, Truesdale named M.L. Field Hockey All-Stars

WAKEFIELD — The Middlesex League field hockey coaches recently met to make this year’s all-star selections in both the Freedom and Liberty divisions.

The Wakefield Memorial High field hockey team had two all-stars named. Seniors Megan Horrigan and Alexis Truesdale were the two Warriors honored. Horrigan, a captain, played in the midfield and Truesdale played on defense.

In the Freedom division, perennial league champion Watertown led the balloting with six all-stars and the league MVP. Wilmington was next with four all-stars named. Wakefield, Burlington and Stoneham each had two all-stars chosen and Melrose had one selection.

In the Liberty division, league champion Belmont led the list with four all-star selections and the league MVP. Winchester, Lexington and Reading each had three all-stars selected. Arlington had two players named and Woburn had one all-star.
