LYNNFIELD — Irene H. Allyn, 93, of Lynnfield died Monday, Jan. 25 at her residence.
Mrs. Allyn was born in Wakefield on March 2, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Emma (Habermahl) Howard.
Mrs. Allyn was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1940, and later Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She moved to Lynnfield in 1960 and was a member of the Centre Congregational Church, where she volunteered at the Thrift Shop. She enjoyed playing bridge, cribbage, bowling, gardening and traveling.
Mrs. Allyn was the wife of the late Herbert O. Allyn. She was the loving mother of Pamela J. Harris and her husband John of Lynnfield, Bruce H. Allyn of Littleton, Sheryl J. Mooney and her husband Roger of Riverside, R.I. and Kim D. Allyn of Beverly. She was the sister of the late W. Stowell Howard and Steadman Howard. She was the grandmother of Amy, Jill, Karyn, Scott, Jenny, Mark, Sarah, Ross, Michael and Tara. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral service will be held at the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
