LYNNFIELD — J. Robert Andrews, 91, of Lynnfield died on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Andrews was born in Wellsburg, West Virginia on July 28, 1925. He was the son of the late Richard Parker and Anna Florence (Martin) Andrews.

Mr. Andrews was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, earning his bachelor of science degree in 1948. He worked in personnel administration at Radio Corporation of America from 1950-1960. He was the founder and director of Personal Management Associates from 1960-1986, and had developed and marketed PC computer software for Human Resources applications from 1986-1989.

Mr. Andrews was a staff member of CRU, a Christian missionary organization and had served as senior HR Consultant for Management Technologies International, Beijing China 2000-2001. He had been a long term member of Grace Chapel in Lexington and was interested in sailing, photography and skiing.

Mr. Andrews is survived by his wife Jean M. (McCarthy) Andrews. He is also survived by his son, John R. Andrews and his wife Martha of Virginia; and his four daughters, Kathryn Crook and her husband Stephen of Reading, Lynda Gallagher and her husband Jack of Merrimac, Sandra Hussey and her husband Robert of Maine; and Lauren Bunker of Manchester. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Andrews was predeceased by his daughter Roberta Poorman and five siblings.

His funeral service was held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Wednesday, Dec. 28. Interment followed at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Visitation for relatives and friends was held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, Dec. 27.
