WAKEFIELD — James H. Doucette, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died Oct. 1 at the age of 97.

Mr. Doucette was born in Wakefield on Sept. 23, 1919 and was the son of the late Edmon and Charlotte (Muise) Doucette.

He was retired from Kraft Foods of Woburn.

He enjoyed travel and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Doucette was the devoted husband of Isabelle E. Doucette. He was the loving father of Jean E. Crooker and her husband Scott and Karen E. Doucette, all of Wakefield. He was the grandfather of Julie Crooker and Keri Crooker-Sloan and her husband Keith and was the great-grandfather of Hayden, Jordan and Gabe. He is predeceased by his 10 siblings.

His funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Friday at 11 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
