PEABODY — Richard K. Doucette, 88, of Peabody and formerly of Wakefield, died on Oct. 1 at the Windrose Nursing Home in Woburn.

Born in Wakefield on Oct. 12, 1927, he was the son of the late Melbourne and Mary (DeVeau) Doucette.

Richard was raised in Wakefield. He served in the Navy during World War II and later in Korea. He also served in the Air Force during Vietnam and later retired as Staff Sergeant. He later worked at Hanscom Air Force Base.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #62 of Reading and the VFW Post # 685 of Reading. He was also a member of the West Side Social Club.

Richard was the beloved husband of the late Stella Rose (Knoff) Doucette. He was the father of Claire Brown and husband William of Wakefield. He was the brother of the late Harold Doucette, Dennis White, Alice Johnson, Frances Ewing and Margaret Webb. He was the grandfather of Renee Doucette, Wayne Brown and Amanda Michienzi. He was the great-grandfather of Alyanna and Evan.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
