Melrose native worked for Melrose doctor
PEABODY — Jane K. (Donovan) Bushee, 78, of Peabody passed away at the Lahey Medical Center in Peabody on Oct. 10.
Jane was born in Melrose on May 2, 1936, to the late Edward and Mary (McCormick) Donovan, was raised in Melrose and graduated from St. Mary Grammar School and St. Mary High School, Class of 1954.
She moved to Peabody 21 years ago.
Jane was a homemaker and also worked part time for Dr. Jako in Melrose for over 25 years.
Mrs. Bushee was a longtime member of St. Mary Church, was an excellent athlete and tennis player, enjoyed being a “hockey mom” and loved going ice skating.
Her family always came first in her life and she always enjoyed her trips to Newfound Lake in New Hampshire.
Jane was the beloved wife of 54 years to Edward Bushee. She was the loving mother of Jean M. Mothon and her husband Lou of Methuen, Edward C. Bushee of Derry, N.H., Paul J. Bushee and his wife Carol of San Marcos, Calif. and Donna J. Morris and her husband Chris of Methuen. She was the caring sister of Mary Crowther of Melrose, Edward Donovan of North Reading and Sheila Enwright of California. She was the cherished grandmother of Jessica, Katie, Mary, Emma, Jacqueline, Matthew, Patrick, Sean and Kelsie. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral was from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 10:30 a.m.
Interment at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
