Longtime Wakefield grade school educator

 

Jeanne A. Hudd, 64, of Lynnfield formerly of Wakefield died on Wednesday, September 10 at the Mass General Hospital.

Born in Somerville on August 22, 1950 she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Ciriello) Pirrello.

Jeanne was a graduate of St. Clements High School in Somerville, Class of 1968, Salem State College, Class of 1972 and earned her Master’s Degree from Suffolk University.  She began her teaching career in Somerville where she taught for four years, after taking nine years off to raise her children returned to the Wakefield school system for 28 years, holding positions as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, as well as a reading specialist and assistant principle before retiring in 2012.

Jeanne is survived by her husband Ronald F. Hudd, her children Kerith E. LaRosee and her husband Marc of Wilmington, Daniel J. Hudd and his wife Karen, and Ryan M. Hudd all of Wilmington, her late sister Sharon Pirrello, brother Michael Pirrello and his wife Elaine of Wakefield, and her sister Janet Pirrello of Saugus.  Jeanne is also survived by her 5 grandchildren; Andrew, Ryan, Gabriella, Anna and Ariana.

Besides her family, her passion was travel, taking her to places across the country and around the world.  Most memorable were her trips to Disney World with her grandchildren.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am.  Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-7pm.  Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to MGH Cancer Center, Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, Development Office, 100 Cambridge Street, Suite 1310, Boston, MA 02114 or Wakefield Educational Foundation, PO Box 1752, Wakefield, MA 01880.
