STONEHAM — Joan L. (Nelson) Robinson, 72, of Stoneham passed away on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born on Feb. 6, 1944 in Winchester, Joan was the loving daughter of the late Eddie and Melva (Powers) Nelson. Joan was a warm and caring daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Joan was a loyal and dedicated office manager for many years. She was educated in Wakefield Public Schools, graduating from Wakefield High School. She was known for her good sense of humor. A graduate of Chandler School in Boston, Joan loved making new friends and spending time with her true love, her family. They were first and foremost in her life.
Joan was the former wife of John A. Robinson Sr. She was the beloved and devoted mother of John A. Robinson Jr. and his wife Patricia, Jeffrey S. Robinson and his husband William Wyman and Jason A. Robinson and his wife Theresa. She was the cherished grandmother of John T. Robinson and Shannon N. Robinson. Joan was the sister of Robert Nelson and his wife Dorothy. She was the dear aunt of Kristin Santamauro and Heather Dewan and was the dear friend of Maryanne Carmody.
A funeral service celebrating Joan’s eternal life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (Route 28), Stoneham.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share memories with the family on Monday, Oct. 24, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Parking attendants and elevator are available. Interment Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
