U.S. Marine Corps veteran with local survivors

WAKEFIELD — John R. Casoli, 79, of Wakefield died June 17 at the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers.

Born on Sept. 28, 1936, he was the son of the late John J. and Grace (Romano) Casoli.

John was raised in the North End of Boston. He was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School of Boston and served in the U.S Marine Corps as a sergeant from 1955 to 1959.

He was retired as the owner and broker at Casoli Brokerage Company, Inc. of Chelsea.

John was the beloved husband of Maria A. (Arigo) Casoli. He was the loving father of Michele M. Reardon and husband John J. of North Reading, Jennifer G. Casoli Vant and husband James of North Reading, Michael A. Casoli and wife Kourtney A. of Wakefield. He was the brother of Michael A. Casoli of Wakefield, Camille Iannucci of Kingston and the late Carol Musto. He was the loving grandfather of his 12 grandchildren: Michael, Joe, Christopher and Dylan Reardon, Madison, Ava, Paige and Devon Vant, Isabella, Olivia, John and Antonina Casoli.

His funeral was held from the McDonald–Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield. Interment was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s name to the National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800 Miami FL 33131 or to Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston MA 02215.
