MERRIMACK, N.H. — John (Lit) S. Elliott, 65, of Merrimack, N.H. died on Friday, Nov. 7 at his home surrounded by his loving family after fighting a long and courageous battle against cancer.
Lit was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. and was raised in Haverford, Pa. and North Reading. Lit also spent summers at his beloved Belle Island on Lake Cobbosseecontee, Maine.
Lit was the devoted husband of Norine Elliott. He was the beloved father of Courtney Elliott of Portsmouth, N.H. and of Ian Elliott of Manchester, N.H. He was also step–father to Kristen Ratanatharathorn of Brooklyn, N.Y., Alex Van Leuven of Merrimack, N.H. and Jaime Van Leuven of Portsmouth, N.H. Lit was the brother of Peter Elliott of Malden, James Elliott and his wife Jane of Tampa, Fla., Winslow Elliott and his wife Pamela of Stratham, N.H., Deborah Jenks of Exeter, N.H. and Jane Marchetti and her husband Anthony of Atlanta, Ga. Lit is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and by his yellow lab, Belle.
His ashes will be returned to his summer island during a private memorial service to be held next summer.
