ObitDaniels-webTEWKSBURY — John Ronald Daniels, 81, a former Wakefield resident, and a veteran of the Korean War, died peacefully at his Heatherwoods Retirement home in Tewksbury, in the loving care of his family and hospice on Friday, March 18.

John was born in Cambridge, a son of the late Angelo and Angelina (Caffazza) Daniels, and was raised in Cambridge. John lived the greater part of his life in Wakefield and Lowell, and retired to Bayberry and later Heatherwoods Retirement Community in Tewksbury three years ago.

He enlisted into the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and served in both Korea and Japan during his enlistment.

John began his career as a bowling machine technician for the Brunswick Company and traveled throughout the U.S. with his craft. He retired from the Cochrane Ventilation Company in Reading.

John leaves many nieces and nephews including, Donna Cooke and her husband Pierre of Tewksbury, Susan LeFave and her husband Richard of North Conway, N.H., Joanne Cameron and her husband Peter of Merrimac, John Daniels of Medford, Paul Daniels and his wife Cheri of Salem, N.H., Gail Diangle and her husband Roland of Salem, N.H., Michael Daniels and his wife Carly of Woburn, Maria Rose and her wife Amanda of North Carolina and William Daniels and his wife Jean of Boston; many great nieces and nephews, including, Peter Cameron Jr., Richard LeFave Jr., Michael Cameron, Christopher LeFave and Lisa Hadley; many great-grand nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by his five siblings, Michael Daniels, Michelina Procaccini, William Daniels, Joseph Daniels and Jean Rose.

Visiting hours Tuesday, March 22, from 4 until 7 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main streets. (Rte. 38). His funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home, followed by burial with Air Force Honors at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
