BROOKLINE — John T. “Jack” Coughlin of Brookline, and formerly of Wakefield, died on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Melrose on March 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Francis and Evangeline (Hubbard) Coughlin.

Jack was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1949. He was a retired hairdresser in Dover. Mr. Coughlin had served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his sister Jean Quinzio of Reading; his three nieces, Karen Riley and Laurie Spurr, both of Wilmington, and Kathy Black of Andover. Mr. Coughlin is also survived by eight grandnieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
