obitanderson-webMELROSE — John V. Anderson, 81, a lifelong Melrose resident, died on Friday, March 25, at his residence. Born in Boston on March 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Victor F. and Effie M. (Watson) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was the former owner of Melrose Hot Top and had worked at Johnny’s Food Master in Melrose. He was a member of Mount Hood Golf Course in Melrose and had served in the United States Army reserve for six years. He was the husband of the late Joan M. (DeVeau) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was the father of Susan J. Anderson of Melrose, Philip W. Millner of Lynn and the late Victor J. Anderson. He was the brother of Donald R. Anderson. A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10:30 a.m.  Interment to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
