WAKEFIELD — Josephine Cornetta, 94, of Wakefield died Saturday, May 28 in Danvers.
Mrs. Cornetta was born in Boston on Feb. 4, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Yalenti) Fagone. She was raised and educated in East Boston and had been a Wakefield resident since 1972. She was a member of Saint Joseph Parish of Wakefield.
Mrs. Cornetta was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Cornetta. She was the loving mother of the late John Cornetta and is survived by his wife Dorothea Cornetta. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Leslie Jennings and husband Andrew and Robert Cornetta and his wife Jessica. Also survived by her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Andrew and Madison Jennings as well as many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Charles Fagone and her sister Marie Aglio.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Friday at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield, at 11. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.
