Caring mother and grandmother loved gardening, horses
LYNNFIELD — Josephine L. Macera, 88, of Peabody, formerly of Lynnfield, died on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.
She was born in Boston on Aug. 23, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Concetta (Prestandrea) Guarnaccia.
Josephine was born and raised in the North End. She was a talented seamstress and a very caring mother and grandmother. She loved to garden and care for her horses.
She was the loving mother of Michelle Macera of Peabody; and Michael Macera of Florida. She was the beloved grandmother of Christopher, Thomas, Michelle and Gina. She was the great-grandmother of Nathan and Myla. Josephine was also the sister of the late Rocco and Camille Guarnaccia.
Josephine’s Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, on Friday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Friday prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
