Lifelong resident active at Saint Maria Goretti Church

LYNNFIELD — Karen R. Duggan, 73, of Lynnfield, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Lynn on April 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Lorna (Pratt) Simpson.
Mrs. Duggan was a lifelong Lynnfield resident. She was both raised and educated in Lynnfield, and was a graduate of Lynnfield High School, Class of 1961. She was a member of Saint Maria Goretti Church and the Lynnfield Art Guild. Additionally, Mrs. Duggan was a former member of the Sweet Adelines of Arlington and the American Needle Point Guild, and had served as a judge in many shows.
She was the beloved wife of John P. Duggan, Jr. She was the loving mother of Julianne E. Hines and her husband Joey; Kathleen E. Duggan; John P. Duggan, III and his wife Natalie; and Amy M. Fuller and her husband Paul, all of Danvers. She was the sister of Jonathan Simpson and his wife Carol; Christopher Simpson and his wife Pauline; and Kathy Simpson. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, John IV, Timothy, Jillian, Isabelle, Jarrod, Andrew and Martin.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday, March 25 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 24 from 4-8 p.m.
