LYNNFIELD — The 49th annual Lynnfield Athletic Association (LAA) Fourth of July Road Race will take place on Monday, July 4.

The race starts and finishes at the Lynnfield Town Hall at 55 Summer St. Start time is 9 a.m. Race day registration begins at 7:30 p.m. The race costs $20 for runners 18 and under, and the race fee for people over 18 is $30. All proceeds go toward scholarships for the student athletes at Lynnfield High School.

The event features an awards ceremony, a DJ and a raffle. Awards will be given out in a variety of categories, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Special recognition will go toward the event’s overall winners and the overall winners from Lynnfield High School.

This race accommodates the true competitors as well as those out for a leisurely run. The road race is a good way to start the Fourth of July with a bang and run. The race will be held rain or shine.
