Wakefield resident was passionate about New England sports

Larry-Dennehy-obit_webWAKEFIELD — Lawrence Dennehy Jr. of Wakefield left us on August 14.
Originally from Somerville, Larry also spent several years in Kingman, Arizona before settling in Wakefield. Mr. Dennehy most recently worked for G & G Mechanical of Malden and also enjoyed many years as a pilot car driver with his son-in-law exploring the western United States.
Prior to that Larry worked at the Dockside Restaurants in Malden and Nahant and additionally for the Harvard University Printing Press.
Larry’s passion for New England sports is only topped but that of his love for family and dear friends. For those that knew him, he enjoyed life to the fullest, celebrating summertime with family BBQs in Burlington and beach vacations to Maine.
Larry was everyone’s favorite handyman and also excelled in his ability to meticulously paint the interior and exterior of houses. You would find him with a smile and paint brush in his hand on a regular basis.
He was the devoted son of the late Lawrence and Virginia (DiRocco) Dennehy Sr. He was the beloved father of Jessica Poe and her husband Chad of Idaho and Jeffrey Dennehy and his girlfriend Shelly Koehler of Arizona. He was the loving brother of Patricia and Jack Urbaczewski of Wakefield and Paula Merrigan of Boxford. He was the cherished grandfather of Ava and Ashton Poe. He was the dear nephew of Enrico and Arlene DiRocco of Burlington. He is also lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem St., Malden on Friday, August 18, at 10 a.m.
