Dugganobit-webWAKEFIELD — Leonard J. Duggan, 91, of Wakefield died on Tuesday, May 10, at the Bear Hill Nursing Center.
Born in Arlington on Oct. 16, 1924, he was the son of the late John J. and Marion (Conlin)
Duggan.
Mr. Duggan and his wife Marilyn were graduates of Arlington High School in the Class of 1942.
He had retired from the New England Motor Rate Bureau after 46 years as the general manager and treasurer. Mr. Duggan was the director of the Traffic Manager Institute and the College of Advanced Traffic Management.
He was president and treasurer of the Bear Hill Golf Club and member of the finance committee at St. Joseph Church and School.
Mr. Duggan was an honorary life member of the Board of Directors for New England Motor Rate Bureau, Bear Hill Golf Club and the Wakefield Council of the Knights of Columbus.
He was the beloved husband of 61 years of the late Marilyn R. (O’Brien) Duggan. Mr. Duggan is survived by his devoted daughter Gail Gessler and her husband Norm of Andover.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
