Brought joy to her family

MEDFORD — Leslie J. Hudson, 58, of Medford, formerly of Reading and North Reading, died Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Winchester Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Winchester on December 28, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Eleanor G. (Wilson) Hudson. Leslie was a graduate of Stoneham High School, she was a member of St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading and the HYA Club.

Leslie worked as a housekeeper for the Reading Y.W.C.A. and for EMARC. She was a fun loving person who brought joy to her family. She loved to dance, swim, listen to music and spend time with her special friends, Cheri Glassett, Angela Camarro and Anne Kieslich. Leslie also loved bowling, square dancing, rug hooking and word searches.

Leslie loved to travel, including her winters in Florida, fall at the Mittersill and summers in Maine. Leslie’s family would like to thank her many wonderful caregivers, housemates and friends who enriched her life. She participated in the Special Olympics for many years and was the family baker and honored each of us with a delicious birthday cake yearly.

Family members include her loving sisters, Kathleen H. Winacco and her husband Jeffrey of Holden and Deborah Hudson of ME; her nieces, Sarah Buttersworth and her husband Craig of Andover; Emily Landsman and her husband Sam of Woodstock, VT and Allison Winacoo of Los Angeles, CA; her nephews, James McBee and his wife Meaghan of Baltimore, MD and Ian McBee and his wife Liz McGovern of Salem, MA; her uncle, Harvey Hudson of Wilmington and her aunt, Nancy Hudson of Dover, NH; she was the great aunt of Cassidy, Rosalie and Aliceanna McBee. She leaves behind many other dear relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Saturday, August 8 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m, followed by a 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 63 Winter St. (Rt. 62), North Reading. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Peabody.
