Parrobit-webWAKEFIELD — Lois R. Parr, 96, a lifelong Wakefield resident, passed away Thursday, February 2, at the Phillips Manor Nursing Home in Lynn.

She was born in Medford on February 13, 1920, and was the daughter of the late Harold J. and Laura (Pinto) Ring.

Lois was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1938. She was a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church.

Lois was known in the family for her baking skills and her world-famous sugar cookies. Lois enjoyed quilting and knitting and especially spending time with her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Parr. She was the loving mother of Sheila J. Jean her husband Al of Londonderry, NH, David L. Parr and his wife Sheila of Wakefield and the late Richard Parr Jr. She was the sister of Shirley Waisnor of Wakefield, Harold Ring of Saugus and the late Arthur Ring and was the stepbrother of the late Robert Ring. She is also survived by 8 grandsons and 14 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 o’clock.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
