LYNNFIELD — Eagle Scout candidate Jack Mackey is nearing completion of his Eagle Scout project at Beaver Dam Brook Reservation.

Beaver Dam Brook Reservation is almost 200 acres of forested open space in the very center of Lynnfield with a long history of enjoyable passive recreation opportunities for residents.

In the fall of 2022, Mackey approached the Conservation Commission with his project proposal for restoration of the reservation. His proposal included re-mapping of the entire area, maintaining existing trails, establishment of new trails and connection points and installation of trail signage and wetland
crossings. Jack designed and built double-plank wetland crossings for the project.

Steve Fantone from the Open Space and Recreation Plan Working Group led one of his community walks through the reservation last month.

“This was an excellent opportunity to learn about the historical significance of this important open space and to see the many improvements that Jack has made to the property,” said Planning and Conservation Director Emilie Cademartori.
