LYNNFIELD — On a rainy, cold day last Thursday afternoon, the Lynnfield High boys’ lacrosse team shut out host Amesbury, 18-0, at Cashman Elementary School on a grass field.

With the win, the Pioneers improved to 2-1 overall and in the Cape Ann League.

“They are a fairly new program and they are still in the building phase,” explained Pioneers head coach Pat Lamusta.

Lynnfield scored seven goals in the first half and 11 more in the second even though Lamusta stated to rest some of the starters in the third quarter.

Jack Calichman was the star of the game as he broke the school record for assists in a game with eight. The junior midfielder also scored twice to end up with 10 points on the day.

Drew Damiani had a team-high four goals and one assist while Will Norton added three. Will Steadman, Kelan Cardinal and Janssen Sperling all had two goals and one assist.

Owen Considine also found the back of the Indians net twice.
