LYNNFIELD — The Cape Ann League boys’ soccer coaches met recently to select their all-star teams and two Lynnfield High players were named to the squads as the league had a First-Team and Second-Team.

Alex Gentile made the First-Team All-Stars and it was his first postseason honor. The junior midfielder had six goals and four assists. He was tied for second on the team in scoring and led the Pioneers in assists.

“He had a great year for us,” stated Pioneers head coach Brent Munroe, about the co-captain. “He was a major player for us and he had a bigger role. He had great vision and gets everybody involved and should have even a better year next season.”

Dom Ferrante made the CAL Second-Team All-Stars and that was his first postseason honor as well. The senior captain has been on the varsity all four years.

“He was vital to our success,” pointed out Munroe. “He is a big, strong kid that was a good ball-winner. We needed him to play that role as defensive midfielder because of our youth.”
