LYNNFIELD — Five members of the girls’ cross-country team and three members of the boys’ cross-country team set personal bests during the Division 3 All-State meet in Wrentham on Saturday, Nov. 20.

“There were many great performances and personal bests for the runners,” said Pioneers head coach Bill Wallace.

The girls’ cross-country team finished seventh in the Division 3 All-State meet.

Junior Maddie Daigle set a new personal best after finishing 16th overall at the All-State meet (19:52). Freshman Gabby Bottaro also set a new personal best after placing 45th overall (20:42). Freshman Kaila George was 62nd overall (21:09), which was a new personal best.

Senior captain Kaleigh Weeks set a new personal best after finishing 82nd overall (21:30). Sophomore Olivia Goguen placed 110th in the All-State (22:04), which was a new personal best. Sophomore Viola Wertz was 131st overall (22:47).

Boys’ results

The boys’ cross-country team finished 22nd overall in the All-State meet.

Captain John McKrell finished 77th in the meet (17:54). Junior Angelo DeLuca placed 86th in the meet (17:59), which was a new personal best. Sophomore Srivanth Tudi set a new personal best after finishing 143rd overall (19:03).

Senior captain Andrew Shone earned a new personal best time after finishing 144th in the All-State meet (19:03). Freshman Shea McCarthy placed 153rd overall (19:10). Junior Charles Beatrice finished 176th in the All-State meet (20:12). Senior captain Lucas Williams concluded his final cross-country meet by finishing 181st overall (20:53).

Performances praised

Wallace was incredibly proud of the Pioneers’ performance in the Division 3 All-State meet.

“Eight out of the 13 runners for Lynnfield were able to run personal bests in the biggest race of the season,” said Wallace. “This was an incredible way to end one of the most successful seasons ever in the history of Lynnfield cross-country.”
