Boys’ cross country competes well at CALs, gets ready for states

WRENTHAM — On Oct. 26, the Lynnfield High boys’ cross country team participated in the Cape Ann League Championship Meet at the Wrentham Developmental Center.

The Pioneers came in 9^th place out of 10 teams with a total score of 211. Hamilton-Wenham won with 22.

Dylan Nguyen was the first Pioneer to finish the 5,000-meter course with a time of 17:58 to place 18th overall.

Nick Degennaro was 41st (19:11), while Liam Gardner placed 48th (19:36).

Ashkrit Mahajan captured 49^th (19:45) while Ritvik Mahajan placed 56^th at 20:00 and Rowan Bayer was 57^th in 20:02. Mike Marenghi took 64^th in 20:28.

The next event for the team will be on Nov. 9 back in Wrentham for the Division 3A State Championship.
