LYNNFIELD — It was a successful Senior Night on Sunday for the Lynnfield High boys soccer team as they blanked visiting Austin Prep, 5-0. The game was originally supposed to have been played on Saturday but was rained out.

With that win, the Pioneers improved to 14-1-2 as they completed the season sweep over the non-league Cougars.

IT WAS A GREAT night for the seniors on the LHS boys’ soccer team. Pictured with their families are David Gentile (22), Michael Gentile (5), Nathan Bass (8), Joseph Connelly (18), Max Sieger (6), Jackson Cleary (10), Aidan Connelly (7), Jonathan Luders (4) and Jack Campbell. (Dan Pawlowski Photo)

“Not only did all of the seniors play but everybody got in there,” pointed out Lynnfield head coach Brent Munroe.

Lynnfield took control of this game in the opening half as they led 3-0 at halftime.

Max Sieger had two goals to lead the team while Jonathan Luders had a team-high four points with a goal and three assists. Aiden Connolly and Jack Campbell had the two other goals. For Campbell, the goalie normally, it was his first career goal as he played in net the first half and played forward in the second.

He made one save in that first half while Dante Gesamondo made one save in the second half.

The game at Newburyport scheduled for Oct. 23 was rained out and made up on Oct. 30 (results not available at press time).

On Halloween, the Pioneers will find out who they will host in the first round of the Division 3 North state tournament. Visit www.miaa.net for tournament pairings.
