LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield High boys’ track and field team beat Pentucket at Lynnfield Middle School on May 27 for their second consecutive victory, improving to 2-3 on the season. 

The Pioneers needed every clutch effort down the homestretch of the meet as they won a competitive matchup by a score of 72-69.

Lynnfield got first place in 10 events. 

Mike Madden earned two of those first place finishes, getting the top time in the 400 hurdles (65.3) and the 800 meters (2:12). 

Nick Marcinowski got first in the shot put with a 36’7”.

Dean Bey had the best pole vault of the day with a height of 8’6”. 

Cole Trainor was first in the discus with a throw of 97’1”.

Joey Badger was first in the triple jump with a 39’9”.

Dan McSweeney was first in the mile with a 5:24. 

Joey Cucciniello got first in the 100 in 11.4. 

James Considine was first in the 200 with a 23.8. 

The 4×100 relay team of LaFerla, Cucciniello, Connolly and Mitchell qualified for the state meet with their first place time of 45.8.  Lynnfield will look to keep it going when they travel to Ipswich on Monday at 4 p.m.
