WESTFIELD — The cross-country teams are headed to the All-State meet this weekend.

“The Lynnfield boys’ and girls’ cross country teams had a successful day at the State Division 3A meet in Westfield on Saturday, Nov. 13,” said Pioneers head coach Bill Wallace. “Both teams placed in the top seven, which qualified them for the All-State meet. The All-State meet will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20.”

The girls’ team finished second overall after receiving 85 points in the State Division 3A meet. Weston won the meet with 37 points, as the lowest score in cross-country wins a meet. Nipmuc finished third with 149 points. Seekonk was fourth with 168 points. Oakmount Regional High School rounded out the top five with 175 points.

Junior Maddie Daigle was the first Pioneer to cross the finish line after finishing 11th in the State Division 3A meet (20:30). Freshman Gabby Bottaro was 16th overall (21:22). Sophomore Viola Wertz placed 18th in the meet (21:27).

Freshman Kaila George finished 19th in the meet (21:28).

Sophomore Olivia Goguen earned a 34th place finish (22:13). Senior captain Kaleigh Weeks was 37th overall (22:25). Senior captain Julia Seelig finished 57th in the meet (23:13).

Boys’ team results

The boys’ cross-country team finished seventh in the State Division 3A meet with 200 points. Bishop Stang High School was first overall with 70 points. Seekonk placed second with 84 points. Hamilton-Wenham finished third with 88 points. Ipswich was fourth with 144 points. Weston finished fifth with 173 points, and East Bridgewater was sixth with 179 points.

Captain John McKrell was the 11th runner to cross the finish line (17:37). Junior Angelo DeLuca finished 20th overall (18:14). Sophomore Srivanth Tudi placed 55th in the meet (19:22).

Freshman Shea McCarthy finished 58th in the meet (19:32). Senior captain Lucas Williams was 67th overall (19:52). Junior Charles Beatrice placed 68th in the meet (19:53). Senior captain Andrew Shone finished 73rd overall (19:58).
