Loved the family St. Patrick’s Day celebrations

WAKEFIELD — Carolyn G. Sullivan, 82, of Wakefield passed away peacefully Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her residence.

Born in Malden on Sept. 8, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Francis and Gertrude C. (Sullivan) Mooney.

Mrs. Sullivan was raised in Malden and was a graduate of Girls Catholic. In 1963, Carolyn met Peter A. Sullivan, and the two married in 1965 and started their family in Newburyport before moving the family to Wakefield in 1974, where they have since remained. Carolyn very much enjoyed day trips with her husband and grandchildren to local destinations. She also loved getting her family together on Saint Patrick’s Day to decorate and sing Irish songs. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Wakefield.

She was the beloved wife of Peter A. Sullivan. She was the loving mother of Kevin G. Sullivan and his wife, Bridget, of Lynnfield; Kerry A. Angelo and her husband, Mark, of Newtown Square, Pennsylvania; and Kelly M. Girotti and her husband, William, of Wakefield. She was the sister of Patricia Sanford of Hookset, New Hampshire; Raymond Mooney of Wilmington; and Elaine Murphy of Saugus. She was the cherished grandmother of Cameron and Tim Sullivan, Brooks Angelo, and Erin and Molly Girotti. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.

Mrs. Sullivan’s Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends attended the service. Interment will take place at a later date.
