A woman of faith loved spending time with her grandchildren

LYNNFIELD — Nora M. Moccia (Steriti), 99, of Lynnfield passed away surrounded by her loving family on Aug. 30, 2022.

She was born in Revere on May 16, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Teresa (DiGianni) Steriti.

Nora was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Moccia. She was the devoted mother of Lianne and her husband, Allyn Field, of Lebanon, New Hampshire; Edward and his wife, Lee, of Peabody; and Anthony and his wife, Felicia, of Lynnfield. She was the cherished grandmother of Daniel Moccia-Field and his wife, Margot Weller; Anna Moccia-Field and her husband, Dan Tran; Kara Moccia; Krista Doughty and her husband, Jim; Katie Colombo and her husband, Nick; Kreg Moccia and his wife, Rocío Bravo; Ariana Haddad and her husband, Anthony; Anthony Moccia, and Christina Moccia. She was a great grandmother of eight. She was the dear sister of Rose Marie Maloney and her husband, William, of Peabody; and the late Angelo Steriti, Rev. Edward J. Steriti O.C.S.O, Eleanor Misci and Vincent “Jimmy” Steriti. Many loving nieces, nephews and friends also survive her.

Widowed at 49, Nora’s faith was her foundation. She bravely guided her children through their adolescence and beyond. Twenty years of work with school children, and later in her hospital volunteer role, she touched the lives of many. She liked nothing better than crowding her table with family and friends. Her Italian meals were legendary. Nonnie’s happiest days were spent with her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A visitation was held at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends attended. A Funeral Mass was held on Friday, Sept. 2 at St. Anthony’s Church. Interment took place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Nora’s name to Saint Joseph’s Abbey, 167 N.
