LYNNFIELD — Lynnfield Recreation announced this week that Recreation Director Julie Mallett has obtained her license as a Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) from the National Recreation and Park Association.
CPRP certification is granted to individuals at the forefront of the recreation profession who meet high standards of expertise, including a combination of higher education and/or work experience. This certification is in addition to Mallett’s bachelors of science degree in education and psychology. Additionally, applicants must complete the national CPRP examination, which tests knowledge in all aspects of general administration, programming and operations management for parks and recreation.
Mallett has been involved in the recreation community in Lynnfield for over five years. The Recreation Commission stated that Mallett’s dedication to the community is remarkable, and this accomplishment of becoming a Certified Park and Recreation Professional is a testament to her drive and commitment to serve the Lynnfield community.
Over the years, Mallett has created numerous programs that have become an integral part of Lynnfield Recreation. The Summer Rec Program, Father/Daughter Dance, Taste of MarketStreet, ski club, Friday Night Trips and the Middle School Early Release Day Trips are some of the most popular offerings overseen by Mallett and the Recreation staff.
