Admissions director at Winchester Rehabilitaton and Nursing Center
AMESBURY — Marie Ellen (Penley) Santosuosso, 46, of Saugus passed away in Saugus on Aug. 26, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Marie was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School, Class of 1987. Mrs. Santosuosso was a Saugus resident for many years before moving to Amesbury in 2006.
Marie was very caring to the elderly as shown through her employment as the admissions director at Winchester Rehabilitation & Nursing Center for the past 15 years. She would travel anywhere, was a people person and cherished the times spent with her family.
Marie was the best friend and loving wife of 27 years to Dean C. Santosuosso. She was the devoted mother of Sean A. Santosuosso of New Hampshire. Cherished daughter of Norman and Marlene (Greenlay) Penley of Saugus. She was the caring sister of Brian R. Penley and his wife Kathy of New Hampshire and William N. Penley and his wife Brandy of North Reading and sister-in-law of Joseph Santosuosso of Saugus. She was the loving grandmother of Autumn N. Santosuosso. She was the caring aunt of Matthew and Samantha Penley and Dante Santosuosso. She is also survived by her loving four legged furry companion Cleo.
Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Thursday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 300 Central St., Saugus on Friday at 10 a.m.
