WAKEFIELD — Margaret A. “Peggy” King, 78, of Wakefield and formerly of Somerville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 20, after a short period of declining health.
Born and raised in Somerville, she was the beloved daughter of John A. and Mildred (Halloran) King.
Peggy was a career-long employee of the N.E. Telephone Company. “Aunt Peggy” was a devoted aunt and great-aunt who enjoyed sharing in the life celebrations and accomplishments of her nieces and nephews. In her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling widely with her many friends form N.E. Telephone.
In addition to her many nieces and nephews, Peggy is survived by her sisters: Mary “Pat” Chase and her late husband Walter of Billerica and Sally O’Connor and her husband Tim of Newburgh, N.Y.; as well as her brothers: John King and his wife Rosalee of East Brookfield and James King and his wife Karen of Wakefield. Peggy was preceded in death by her brother Paul King.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11:30. Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the funeral home today, Thursday, from 4-8 p.m.
