MICCO, Fla. — Margaret Ann (Canto) Whitcomb, 79, of Micco, Fla., formerly of Maine, passed away on September 16, 2019 surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Margaret was born in Wakefield, Mass. and was the daughter of the late Salvatore “Toody” and Josephine Canto.
Margaret was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. Together with her husband, John, of 63 years, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, and riding motorcycles across the country. If you knew Margaret, you would know she was a connoisseur of all foods. She had worked many years at the family-owned and town favorite, “Toody’s.” She had also been a teacher. Margaret loved reading and enjoyed books. She also took pride in celebrating God’s life in the church.
She is survived by her husband John Whitcomb of Micco, Fla.; her daughters, Darlene Falite of New Hampshire, Kimberly Camire and her husband Hubert of New Hampshire, and Kandice Whitcomb of Florida. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and four-great grandchildren. She was the sister of Richard Canto and his wife Laney of Wakefield, Corinne Mitchell of Florida, and Diane Mogan and her husband Robert of Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son and her brother, Robert “Bobby” Canto.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday from 4-7 p.m.
