McNulty,-Margaret-webMELROSE — Margaret B. (Conley) McNulty, 86, of Mantoloking and Mahwah, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in Melrose on Wednesday, January 18.

Margaret was born in Glens Falls, New York, on March 20, 1930, one of two daughters of the late Edward and Mary (Washburn) Conley. Raised and educated in Fort Ann, New York, a short drive to Lake George, Margaret enjoyed the lakes region and had many happy memories from summers spent in the Adirondacks.

After graduating from Fort Ann High School, she received her bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College. She then moved to New York City where she would meet her first husband, Robert Boulogne, and begin a family together. They settled in New Jersey before Mr. Boulogne’s professional career brought them to California, Japan, and then back to New Jersey. Margaret always said her favorite memories were made while living in Japan – she just loved it.

Through much of her life, Margaret enjoyed her work for Degussa as an administrative assistant. She had a sharp, curious mind and with a good sense of humor, could talk to anyone. Margaret was well-liked and maintained many longtime, loyal friends throughout her life.

Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, and in particular, loved making monthly trips to Melrose to see her grandchildren as they grew up. She enjoyed the beach while spending summers at her home in Mantoloking, New Jersey, but her heart was always in the Adirondacks. In her younger days with Mr. Boulogne, she traveled extensively to international destinations and enjoyed sightseeing and experiencing new cultures.

After Mr. Boulogne passed away, she was lucky to find a new partner and years of friendship in Joseph McNulty. They were married in 1986, lived in Ridgewood and Mahwah, New Jersey, and shared summers together in Mantoloking, and winter months in Florida with many dear friends. They enjoyed several interesting travel excursions and made many fond memories.

Margaret also volunteered with local charities and enjoyed playing bridge or tennis with her friends. In her free time, she loved reading, knitting, crossword puzzles, fine dining, theatre, and music. She will be missed, but always lovingly remembered.

Margaret was the loving wife of Joseph McNulty and the late Robert Boulogne. She was the cherished mother of Michelle Boulogne and her husband Thomas Kinnealey of Melrose, and the late Robert E. Boulogne and his surviving wife Jamie of Dallas, TX. She was the sister of the late Jean Lucas, and sister-in-law of Betty Duddleston of PA, and the late Yvette Boulogne. She was the proud grandmother of Robert and Katherine Kinnealey, and Reid and Lili Boulogne.

Services are private.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Margaret may be made to Hallmark Health VNA and Hospice, 178 Savin St., Ste 300, Malden MA 02148.
