Built a loving home

READING — Margaret C. (Shaw) McEachern, of Reading, formerly of Medford, passed away peacefully on Nov. 2, 2015, in the Wingate At Reading Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 93.

Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Sadie (Lahey) Shaw.

A homemaker, Margaret happily cared for her family and built a loving home. In her spare time, she enjoyed the art of knitting, playing Bingo with friends and reading. Margaret loved and always enjoyed her trips back to visit Glace Bay, Nova Scotia where she was raised.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph McEachern who passed in 1989. She was the devoted mother of Gerard McEachern of Abington, Sharon Finocchiaro and her husband Richard of North Reading and Paul McEachern of Sandown, N.H. and the dear sister of Delores Pherrill, Yvonne Muir and her husband Andy, Joyce Thornton and her husband Robert, Garfield Shaw and his wife Jean, Cletus Shaw and his wife Eunice, Eric Shaw and his wife Barbara and brother-in-law Gerry Chamberlain, all of Canada.

Margaret was the loving grandmother of Joseph and Natalie Finocchiaro of North Reading, Stephen Finocchiaro of Arizona, Katie and Gregory McEachern of Rockland, Molly Shahvari of West Bridgewater, Ashley McNeely and Paul McEachern both of Boston. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents Clarence and Sadie (Leary) Shaw, as well as her siblings Mary Shaw, Irene Chamberlain, Gloria MacArthur, Gerald Shaw, Daniel Shaw, Rex Shaw, her sister-in-law Bea McEachern and brother-in-law Paul Pherrill.

Margaret’s funeral services will be held privately.
