Registered nurse worked at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital

MELROSE — Marguerite A. “Peg” (Poulsen) Scenna, 96, passed away at Melrose–Wakefield Hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Peg was born in Holliston on May 6, 1919 to the late Max and Margaret Poulsen. She was raised in Middleton, graduated from Middleton High School and from Melrose Hospital School of Nursing. At the age of 22, Marguerite joined the U.S. Army Nursing Corps and served her country with pride for four years during World War II in the European Theater of Operations. After her discharge from the service, Marguerite worked as a registered nurse and in other various positions at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for 46 years. She enjoyed spending summers in Gilford, N.H. on Lake Winnipesaukee and taking trips to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Mrs. Scenna was the wife of the late Levio J. Scenna. She was the step-mother of Barbara Lahue and her husband Robert of Westford. She was the sister of Richard Poulsen of Florida and Andrew Fontaine of Maine. She was the dear friend of over 50 years to Priscilla A. Uhrig of Melrose. Funeral services and burial at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose was private. Arrangements handled by The Gately Funeral Home, Melrose.
