Wallace-Marchant-obit-webMELROSE — Wallace E. “Wally” Marchant of Melrose died at home on Dec. 21, 2015 at the age of 43.
Wally was born in Cambridge, raised in Melrose and was a graduate of Melrose High School, Class of 1990. He was a lifelong Melrose resident and worked as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years. Wally was a member of the East Side Athletic Association in Malden and dart league for many years. He enjoyed going to Foxwoods and Las Vegas and was an avid Patriots, Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics fan.
Wally was the devoted son of Beverly (Clements) Marchant and the late Wallace Marchant of Melrose. He was the loving father of Justin W. Marchant. He was the caring brother of Lynne Murphy and her husband Kenneth of Melrose; Kathleen Bell and her husband James of Everett; Denise Cassidy and her husband Mark of Woburn; Donna Lombardo of Stoneham and Beverly Notarangeli of Melrose. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, Dec. 27 from 12-3 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will take place in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
