STONEHAM — Marilyn E. Jackson, a longtime resident of Stoneham, passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2019, following a lengthy decline. She was the devoted wife of the late Harold E. Jackson. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Gladys (McQueen) Wiseman. Marilyn was a graduate of Lynn English High School and earned an associate’s degree from Burdett College.
Marilyn had been a resident of Stoneham for the past 65 years. Throughout her marriage and motherhood, she worked as the secretary for her husband’s construction company, H.E. Jackson Carpentry. Marilyn’s fondest memories were of enjoying family activities at their cottage in Beverly and boating on the ocean, and camping on Conway Lake in New Hampshire. Over the years, she and Harold spent many happy hours square dancing with their friends. Marilyn was a devoted member and very involved in the activities at her church.
She was the beloved mother of Rev. Robert H. Jackson and his wife Carolyn of Worcester, Douglas Jackson and his wife Nancy and Richard Jackson and his wife Ruth of Stoneham, Danny Jackson and his wife Pamela of Moultonborough, N.H. and Linda Phillips and her husband Anthony of Shrewsbury. She cherished her 12 grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Samuel, Rebecca, Jacob, Thomas, Mathew, Elizabeth, Christopher, Jordan, Emily and Aaron and her great- grandson, Carson. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert Wiseman.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 9 at 10 a.m. at First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours are Monday, 4-8 p.m. at Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, 4 Common St., Stoneham.
